How Many Times...?

Today, my heart is going back and forth between sorrow and frustrastion due to an incident involving two college students on the campus where I”m employed; one dead, one incarcerated. This tragedy has my mind tremendously preplexed. Today, the more I tried to make sense of it, the more frustrated I became and as I tried to pray…Jesus is all I could say, then this song began to play on Pandora by Hezekiah Walker, “Your Calling My Name.” I looked to heaven and said, “thank you Jesus!”
Listen people, young and old, Jesus is still calling our names, he is still trying to get our attention because he loves us and desires that we all come to the knowledge of who he is, and what love he has for us all–love that took him to the cross to die and be raised with all power to give each of us another chance to be forgiven of our sins and reconciled to the Father. So as you read through the lyrics below, my questions to you are, how many times will you mute the voice of God, how many time will you take his grace for granted?
(Chorus): How many times do I go against your will? Then you forgive me but yet I still, turn around and do the things, the things I shouldn’t do ‘ cause I belong to you and I know you will come through. Lord I know I take advantage of your grace here in this Christian race. But yet I still hear you calling my name.
Verse One How many times would it take for me to learn? That it’s only in your will I’ll ever earn, I’ll ever earn my life’s reward. The honor due to me, life eternally. Riches in glory. Lord I know, I know I don’t belong with you cause I’ve done wrong. But yet I still hear you calling my name.
Verse Two How many times do I go against your will? Then you forgive me but yet I still, I turn around and do the things, the things I shouldn’t do ‘ cause I belong to you and I know you will come through. Lord I know, I know I don’t belong with you cause I’ve done wrong. but yet I still hear you calling my name.
(Vamp): You’re calling my name to come into your arms. To be safe from fear and harm knowing this but I still chose to go my way. And you still say, you say that I am he who will supply your every need. Oh Lord I’ve sinned but your still calling my name.
