Haven't We Done Enough!!!

As I listened to Pastor, IV Hillard describe the events of the crucifixion, he said something that sent my spirit racing in awe of such love along with an incredible sense of gratefulness knowing it should have been me! He said “haven’t you done enough”, speaking of the soldiers who had beaten Jesus unrecognizable, crowned him with thorns, whipped him until his flesh ripped open, nailed both his hands and feet to a cross, and if that was not enough, seeing that he was already dead, they still pierced him in his side to make sure.
My question to us all today, “haven’t we done enough”? For someone who has paid the penalty for our sins, sins we have committed, and those we will commit, one who gave his life as ransom so you and I could live an abundant life, one who took a beating so that by his stripes we could be healed. Haven’t we done enough of denying the power of his resurrection, enough of lying, enough of hating, enough of slandering our brothers and sisters, enough of back-biting, enough of coveting our neighbor, enough of murmuring and complaining, enough of self exaltation, enough of oppressing those less fortunate… haven’t we done enough of grieving the heart of God with our nonchalant attitudes, our stale praise and worship, and grandiose performances?
As we embark upon this glorious Easter, let’s do it with a changed heart, with praise and thanksgiving on our lips! Thank you Jesus! Let us not forget the Father gave his Son and the Son gave his life so we wouldn’t have to!
Until next time, be encouraged!
