Even When You Can't See The Sun/Son...

This blog was inspired by a photo I received from a friend, one who’s a very gifted photographer.  She took this picture of the sky and  there were so many clouds covering the sun you couldn’t see it, but you could tell the sun was shining because you could see the rays of light shining through.  As I stared at the picture, I thought of the many times I wondered if the SON would shine in my life, being there were so many clouds (health clouds, financial clouds, relationship clouds, self-esteem clouds, worry clouds, grief clouds, etc. I’m sure somebody out there can identify, but I’m so grateful that even when the SON seems to not be  in view, he’s faithful to shine just when we need him the most.

My mom’s favorite saying is “He didn’t bring me this far to leave me”, I’ve heard her say, “He may not come when you want him, but he’ll be there on time”, I’ve also heard her say, “I don’t know how and I don’t know when, but God is going to work things out”, she said those things not because she didn’t feel alone, or didn’t feel like time was running out, or even because she felt that things were going to be alright, but I’ve lived long enough and learned that she said it because she was looking to the SON, the author and finisher of her faith and not focusing on the clouds, her problems, circumstances and situations!

My encouraging word for you today is, don’t focus on the clouds in your life, focus on the SON, focus on the promises toward you in his word, promises that  say, he’ll never leave you nor forsake; that he’ll contend with those who contend with you; that no good thing will he with hold from those who walk upright;  that he ‘forgives all your iniquities and heal all your diseases.   Focus on the fact that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose; focus on that fact that the Lord is your Shepard and you shall not want.  Focus on the SON until his light shines like the noonday sun in your life!  He wants to bless you, receive it!
