Claim your Independence Today!

Sunday, July 4th is Independence Day.  The day we celebrate our independence, our freedom from the British (July 4, 1776).  As history tells it, we declared it in 1776, but had to fight seven more years to receive it.  That thought brought me to the many things I’d declared for my life, but hadn’t fully received the victory of complete freedom yet.  Knowing that I’m not obligated to defeat, yet I’m still not waving my victory flag yet!  I’m sure I’m not the only one who has claimed and declared, I’m blessed and highly favored, but when things get too tough and the going gets too rough, we forget what we’ve claimed and declared? 

Where does our declarations and victory claims go during those times? Do they go to “maybe that’s not what God had for me”, do they go to “maybe it’s not my season“, do they go to “maybe I’ll take a break from that for a while”, or do they go to “I’m on to a new thing.”  Don’t even try it, you can’t put new wine in an old wineskin (Matthew 9:14-17, Mark 2:18-22, and Luke 5:33-39)!   Maybe all we needed to do all the while was “fight on”!   In Ecclesiastes 9:11 and Matthew 24:13 , the word tells us for the race is not given to the swift, not the battle to the strong, but to him that endures to the end shall be saved.  Let’s fight till the battle is won, knowing we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us!!
