A Transformed Mind

Roman’s 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your ‘mind’, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Conformed means to ‘form’ or ‘mold’. World is the normal word for ‘age’ or ‘era’. Instead of being molded by the values of this world, the believer should be transformed, in other words, changed by the renewing of your mind.
Spiritual transformation starts in the mind and heart. A mind dedicated to the world and its concerns will only produce thoughts tossed back and forth by current events of the culture, but a mind dedicated to God’s truths will only produce a life that can stand the test of time. Are you meditating on the current events of our culture, unemployment, bankruptcy, depression, etc? Trust me I totally understand the current events, but we are not to think as the world thinks, as believers in Christ and his word, we are to believe that no matter the current events, we are in the hands of a ‘just’ God who truly loves us and his plan is for us to prosper in every area of our lives (Jeremiah 29:11). Therefore, the only way to resist the temptation of meditating on the current events of the pain, suffering and struggles we face daily is to pray and meditate on the Word of God and allow it to be our strength to face another day. I’ve tried it, and I tell you, IT WORKS!!
Until the next time! Be Encouraged!
